Centenary Weekend – 30 Sept, 1-2 October 2022

The Akaroa Golf Club wishes to thank all those who contributed to and attended the weekend celebrations.

The Centenary Celebrations were kicked off with a relaxing round of golf on Friday lunchtime. The official events started with a Cocktail Evening at the Clubhouse on Friday evening with a welcome by the Club President Gary Knight, and the Flagpole unveiling by Life Member Bruce Morton.
We were very pleased to see the sun on Saturday however the wind was fresh, but these hardy Golfers were not to be deterred!

Sir Bob Charles was our Special Guest playing in the Saturday Golf Competition and Guest Speaker at the Saturday dinner.

Edgar Henderson, who had played on all 3 of the Akaroa Golf Club sites, ‘Toasted’ the Club.
The Centenary Cake was cut by the lovely Ruth Jones – the longest female member of the Club.
To round off the weekend there was an easy 9 holes play on Sunday & a Putting Competition.
